Luke Stavos is Nexus' founder and lead pastor. In his time in the Church, he has helped to it grow into a multi-site Church.
Luke and his wife Katie grew up in the St. Cloud area and met in high school. They were married in 2001 and have four children: Sophia, Liam, Eliana, and Kaja. Luke attended the University of Northwestern and while in college, both he and his wife volunteered for eight years in the children’s ministry department in at New Life Church, in Foley, MN.
After graduation, Luke accepted a position as Children’s Pastor at Zimmerman Community Church in Zimmerman, MN. He served there for six years. After being ordained in 2014, Luke accepted my current position as Lead Pastor at Nexus Church in Thief River Falls, MN.
In his spare time, Luke enjoys the outdoors, hockey, football, CrossFit, auto racing, music, substitute teaching and lots of coffee with friends! Katie enjoys the outdoors, animals, spending time with friends, and inline skating.
Pastor Luke considers it a true honor to serve our community and looks forward to seeing God move on the hearts of all who call Thief River their home. We believe that God has amazing plans for the future of Thief River Falls and North West Minnesota!

Danny Holwerda Jr.
Danny Holwerda is a pastor, and Project Manager, His addition to the team and passion for ministry has helped to grow Nexus Church's Community and Online Network.
Danny has a passion for servant ministry, and for studying, preaching and teaching the word of God. His love for God's people and compassion for the lost can be seen throughout his life and his ministry. His desire is to see God's love have a dynamic, life-changing impact in his community.
As a native of Grand Forks ND. Pastor Holwerda grow up in the ministry at Valley Christian Church. In fall of 2010, he felt the call of God and joined Gospel Outreach Ministries where he served as Bishop Michael R Cole's adjutant and a minister on the church team. Pastor Holwerda also has held office as a National Chaplin for the Assemblies of God through Royal Rangers and serves as a training Instructor.
Pastor Dan has attended the University of North Dakota and is currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with Global University for Christian Education. Relentless in his vision and clear in his principles Pastor Holwerda stands strong in his commitment to share the joy of God's love through genuine worship, humble outreach, caring relationships and discipleship with the hopes of illuminating God's love.
